Ford Arts, Beats & Eats returns to Royal Oak Aug. 30 - Sept. 2

Celebrating its 16th year and returning to the bustling streets of Royal Oak from Aug. 30 – Sept. 2, Ford Arts, Beats & Eats presented by FirstMerit Bank will entertain thousands of visitors from across the region with its outstanding music line-up, stellar arts programming, mouthwatering selection of food, and a number of new attractions. From the chart-topping musical headliners, the stunning artwork of all mediums, to the succulent dishes from some of the best restaurants throughout the state, this event will be one of the most diverse and exciting weekends of the year.

The Arts
As one of the nation's premier art shows, the Juried Fine Art Show again will be a high point of this year's festival, with high-quality artists from across the continent vying for cash awards totaling $7,500. The jury competition was fierce this year, with more than 400 artists applying for the opportunity to be a part of the show.  It will feature art in 14 mediums, including ceramics, fabric and fiber, leather, painting, photography, sculpture, wood, digital art, drawing, graphics and printmaking, glass, jewelry and metal.

The Beats
Among the national recording artists performing are: Smash Mouth, Eddie Money, Beatlemania Live, Starship, Montgomery Gentry, Guster, Soul Asylum, 50 Amp Fuse, Puddle of Mudd and M.C. Hammer.

The Eats
To tantalize the taste buds, more than 50 of the area's favorite restaurants, caterers and food-related attractions will take to the streets of Royal Oak to share their food and unique take on the culinary arts with visitors. The array of food will have something for everyone, with booths featuring everything from flavorful cultural dishes, to seafood, to summer fun food, to mouthwatering sweets and dessert treats.
