Group asks for donations to save Highland Park Ford Plant

Posted: Updated:
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

A local organization is asking you to help save a national historic landmark.

The Ford Highland Park Plant is the place where Henry Ford manufactured the Model T. It's also the birthplace of the $5 a day wage and America's first moving assembly line.

The Woodward Avenue Action Association is trying to raise enough money to buy two of the buildings on the complex and restore them to make it a place people can visit and walk in the footsteps of Henry Ford.

If you'd like to donate, log on to www.crowdrise.com to learn more.
