Fans react to war of words between A-Rod and the Yankees

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

They’re supposed to be on the same team, the Yankees and third baseman Alex Rodriguez – but Rodriguez has a new attorney and he’s come out swinging.

The New York Times is reporting A-Rod’s lawyer says the Yankees misled him about his injuries and there was a conspiracy to keep Rodriguez off the field.

It seems like every week there's new mudslinging involving A-Rod. Yankee fans Fox 5 spoke to say they are just sick of all of the drama.

Did the Yankees want to get rid of Alex Rodriguez so badly that its President Randy Levine told A-Rod’s doctor that he quote never wanted to see him on the field again?

That's the latest allegation according to a New York Times report.

“When he's in court, that's when it will come out. I think everything else is bull,” said one fan at Yankee Stadium.

Yankee fans in the Bronx definitely not mincing words on this latest a-rod drama.

According to the report, A-Rod's lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, also claims that last season, Rodriguez was misled about his hip injury so he would further damage it. This way the Yankees could allegedly collect insurance on the $114 million dollars remaining on the third baseman's contract.

“To tell you the truth, I’m not surprised because that’s a bad contract that the Yankees signed right there. Si I would not be surprised if the New York Yankees is conspiring to get Alex off the field because they don't want him to play -- everybody knows that,” said another fan at the stadium.

Levine is now challenging Rodriguez to release his medical records. He told several media outlets quote "Alex should put up or shut up."

“I think he should go to his private doctor and put out the medical records. He’s been saying that he was here to play and I think he should bring them out,” said another fan.

A-Rod is currently appealing a 211-game suspension for his alleged use of performance enhancing drugs. Sunday night “60 Minutes” is airing a piece that alleges a member of A-Rod’s inner circle implicated other players in the PED scandal.

Fans Fox 5 spoke to Sunday say enough is enough.

“We just need to win. Win some more championships and put a new banner up there and we'll be good – that’s how I look at it.”

A-Rods lawyer has fired back in several reports saying quote "mark my words, we will be putting up." As for A-Rod, he reportedly said that we should expect a new story or bump in the road every day.

That's one statement it looks like no one can deny.
