Downstate man charged in 2007 South Shore shooting death

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A downstate Illinois man was charged late Thursday with the 2007 shooting death of a teenage boy in the South Shore neighborhood.

Carl Morris, 28, of the 600 block of Harrison Drive in Quincy was charged with one count of first degree murder, police said.

He allegedly fatally shot a 17-year-old boy during an argument in the 7900 block of South Paxton Avenue at 2:01 a.m. on May 23, 2007, police said.

Morris was arrested Thursday in downstate Quincy and will appear Friday in Cook County bond court.
