Jury to resume deliberations in Sneiderman trial on Monday

Posted: Updated:
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

A jury failed to reach a verdict after the first full day of deliberations in the trial of Andrea Sneiderman on Monday.

Sneiderman is accused of making false statements, hindering an investigation and perjury related to the investigation of the 2010 murder of her husband, Rusty, and the trial of the man convicted in the shooting. Rusty Sneiderman was shot outside of a Dunwoody daycare. Andrea's former boss, Hemy Neuman, is serving a life sentence in the murder.

Closing arguments were heard on Thursday. Prosecutors called Sneiderman "a liar," while the defense said investigators are blaming the widow for their failure to solve the murder case sooner.

Investigators have alleged that Neuman was romantically involved with Andrea Sneiderman, a charge the mother of two has denied. Andrea Sneiderman did not testify on her own behalf.

Judge Gregory Adams excused the jury around 4:30 p.m. with instructions not to talk about the trial.

Deliberations will resume on Monday.
