Actor hurt during Broadway's 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark' show

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

An actor in the Broadway show "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" was hurt during Thursday night's show. The performer was apparently pinned under a piece of equipment and suffered leg trauma.

The performance was stopped and the actor, Daniel Curry, 23, was taken to the hospital, said Rick Miramontez, a spokesman for the production. Cruz was listed in serious but stable condition at Bellevue Hospital on Friday.

Friday evening's show was scheduled to go on.

"The technical elements of the show are all in good working order, and we can confirm that equipment malfunction was not a factor in the incident," Miramontez said on Friday. "Our thoughts are with Daniel and his family."

The production, which has been a huge box office draw, has had its share of drama: Several shows have had to be stopped because of equipment problems; several cast members and stunt doubles have suffered injuries in rehearsals and shows, the production's opening was delayed several times because of problems and story revamps, the budget ballooned, and original director Julie Taymor sued the production after she was fired during previews.
