St. Paul boy, 9, loses feet in train track accident

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

A 9-year-old boy who was playing near a moving train had both of his feet severed after falling on the tracks near the intersection of Farrington Street and Ivy Avenue in St. Paul on Thursday.

Friday morning, police identified the boy as Marshawn Kenneth Farr-Robinson.

St. Paul police said the accident occurred at about 5:55 p.m. Thursday. It is unknown whether the boy was playing on the tracks or nearby.

Investigators said Marshawn was alone when he was injured, and no foul play is suspected.

Residents saw the boy and called 911. When emergency crews arrived, they immediately applied tourniquets to his legs.

Marshawn and his family are currently at Regions Hospital. His condition is unknown.
