MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Minneapolis police are investigating a pedal pub crash that took place on Thursday afternoon near the intersection of 5th Avenue and 1st Street in downtown Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, five people were injured when the bar on wheels literally got tipsy and flipped over. Two were taken to HCMC and three were treated at the scene.

Witnesses say the pedal pub was going too fast down a hill near the Stone Arch Bridge.

At this time, it is unknown how many people were on the pedal pub or if alcohol was involved in the crash because investigators are still working to determine what happened prior to the crash.

Pedal pubs are powered by riders, many of whom are drinking, and are controlled by a driver.
