2nd suspect arrested in minister's brother's murder

ATLANTA -

A second arrest has been made in killing the brother of a prominent Atlanta pastor.

Geno Lewis turned himself into the Fulton County District Attorney's Office on Friday.

Lewis and 17-year-old Alejandro Pitts, who was arrested earlier this week, are charged in the murder and armed robbery of Jerrick Jackson.

Investigators say Jackson and his fiancé were ambushed by several men on May 7 at his home on Lowe Street in northwest Atlanta.  Jackson was the younger brother of Atlanta Bishop Wiley Jackson.

Shortly after the crime, police released surveillance video from a nearby convenience store which showed three men suspected in the fatal robbery.  Investigators say the suspects tried to use the stolen debit card belonging to Jackson's fiancé shortly after the crime took place.

Police are still working to identify the other men seen on the surveillance tape.

Pitts was scheduled to have his first appearance at 11 a.m. at the Fulton County Jail, but opted to waive it.  He will remain behind bars without bond until his next court date in two weeks.
