3 KITCHEN TIPS: Shred beef, freshen berries and peel garlic like a pro
Local lifestyle expert Ross Sveback presents three tips in the kitchen you may not already know, not to mention, they can save time and stress.
This tip works best for beef and pork, but can work on chicken as well: Braise your meat with a can of coke and water, then place in a mixing bowl for easy shredding that won't take hours.
SAVE THE BERRIES
Ever find your strawberries moldy in the refrigerator just days after purchasing them? You can salvage their freshness for up to two weeks by placing them in 8 cups of room temperature water and 2 T vinegar -- soak for 30 minutes and let dry. Ross promises they don't taste like vinegar afterwards.
Crush the entire head of garlic and place between two metal bowls, shaking vigorously.
