BEMIDJI, Minn. (KMSP) -

Beltrami County sheriff's officials are investigating a fatal hit-and-run after a body was discovered on a road near Bemidji, Minn., early Wednesday morning.

The body of 25-year-old Christopher Lee Strong, of Bemidji, was found around 4:30 a.m. on Grange Road NW, east of Nature Road.

Skid marks and vehicle parts were also found on the road. Investigators released a photograph of the color of the vehicle and said it likely has front-end damage. 

Anyone with information regarding the crash or Strong's whereabouts prior to his death is asked to call the sheriff's office immediately at 218-333-9111. 

Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
