M.A. Rosko hits the quirkiest links in town at Big Stone mini golf in Minnetrista, Minn.
Big Stone is part sculpture garden, part putt-putt course, and Minnesota man Bruce Stillman built it on his own farm that now draws visitors from all over the state to golf with goats. Yes, goats.
One of the holes was created from an old ship, Stillman says. A landscape enthusiast, he noticed its structural ribbed design, turned it upside down and used recycled eye glasses to create round, colorful windows that allow sunlight to peek through.
Stillman purchased the farm 20 years ago and experimented with landscape sculpture, but he wanted to draw in more visitors to enjoy the scenery. Approximately 10 years ago, that dream became a reality, and the course now draws thousands of mini golfers each year.
