Street closures and anticipated traffic delays for July 28th, 2013. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

WORKMEN'S CIRCLE AND SAINT PATRICK'S CATHEDRAL FAIR, Manhattan

Location(s): Madison Avenue between East 42nd Street and East 57th Street

MURID ISLAMIC COMMUNITY PARADE, Manhattan

Formation: West 116th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard

Route: Adam Clayton Boulevard between West 116th Street and West 125th Street

Dispersal: West 125th Street between Adam Clayton Powell Blvd and Malcolm X Blvd

A GREAT DAY IN HARLEM, Manhattan

Location(s): Perimeter of Grant's Tomb in Riverside Park

Route: Riverside Drive between West 120th Street and Tiemann Place

Claremont Avenue between West 122nd Street and Tiemann Place

West 122nd Street between Riverside Drive and Claremont Avenue

Only the Curb Lane and the sidewalks will be closed for this event

GRAN PARADA DOMINICANA DEL BRONX, Bronx

Formation: Grand Concourse between Cross Bronx Expressway and East 178th Street

Route: Grand Concourse between Cross Bronx Expressway and East 166th Street

Dispersal: Grand Concourse between East 166th Street and East 167th Street

Also, the MTA announced that the Queens Midtown Tunnel north tube leading into Manhattan will be closed to traffic beginning 2:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27 through 5:00 a.m. Monday, July 29 while necessary construction work is completed.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route into Manhattan.

Two-way traffic operation will be in effect in the remaining tube for cars and NYCT buses. Commercial traffic must use an alternate route while two-way traffic operations are in effect.

Al Sharpton and family members of Eric Garner came from a meeting with U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch in which they asked for a federal civil rights investigation into his apparent chokehold death. Meantime, Staten Island businesses are bracing for the huge crowds expected at Saturday's march. Sharpton said he is estimating about 3,000 to 5,000 people to rally Saturday.

    The decommissioned aircraft carrier USS Saratoga left its port in Rhode Island on Thursday for its final journey to Texas, where it will be scrapped. The ship departed Naval Station Newport and made its way down Narragansett Bay to the Atlantic Ocean. It is heading to the Esco Marine ship recycling plant in Brownsville, Texas.
