CORCORAN, Minn. (KMSP) -

The Hennepin County medical examiner has identified Henry Gonzalez Lucas as the 2-year-old who was struck and killed by a van in Corcoran, Minn. Thursday night.

He died of blunt force head trauma at Maple Grove Hospital, according to the medical examiner's release.

Officials confirm the crash occurred on the 7800 block of Maple Hill Road just after 6 p.m. in the residential portion of the Maple Hill Estates mobile home park.

Neighbors told FOX 9 News the toddler was playing underneath a van and that family members thought he had gotten out of the area before the driver of the van began to move and ran over the boy's head.

Neighbors also said the driver of the van may be a relative of the victim; however, police have not released any information about the driver's identity.

Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash at this time.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
