Paula Deen's Cook Claims She Wasn't Treated Fairly

Posted: Updated:

As if things aren't bad enough for Paula Deen, her longtime cook is opening up with more allegations of racism.

Dora Charles has been at Deen's side for 22 years and helped the former Food Network star open her first restaurant in Georgia.

But Charles says Deen used racial slurs in front of her, asked her to ring a dinner bell outside the restaurant and wanted her, and other employees, to dress in "Aunt Jemima"-style outfits.

Even as Deen's career took off, Charles says she was paid only $10 an hour.

Deen denies Charles' allegations, saying she is just after money.

Deen's empire has just about crumble after she admitted to using racial slurs in a court deposition.

She and her brother are accused of running a hostile work environment that included sexual harassment and racism.
