Kroger gives teachers school supplies

ATLANTA -

Kroger gave away thousands of dollars' worth of schools supplies to local teachers on Thursday.
 
The grocer's "Earning Plus Learning" program handed out $40 in supplies to every teacher at the Atlanta and Norcross Kroger stores.

Kroger says helping prepare teachers for the upcoming school year is their way of giving back to community.

Teachers say they are thankful for any help they get.

Kroger gave away more than $60,000 worth of school supplies.
