The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a scooter rider early Wednesday morning in Red Wing, Minn.
Just before 6 a.m., a Chevy Malibu turning left onto Highway 61 from Hill Street collided with a scooter in the intersection. The scooter rider, a 49-year-old man from Red Wing, was taken to Fairview Hospital but died of his injuries.
The driver of the car, a 29-year-old man from Red Wing, was cooperative with investigators at the scene.
The scooter rider was not wearing a helmet.
