Timberwolves rookie Gorgui Dieng visits White House

WASHINGTON (KMSP) -

On his Louisville basketball profile, Timberwolves rookie Gorgui Dieng listed President Obama as the person he'd most likely to meet.

Tuesday, that dream came true as Dieng and his Louisville teammates were honored at the White House for their 2013 national championship.

Dieng was drafted No. 21 overall by Utah and immediately traded to the Timberwolves for Trey Burke on draft night.

Born in Senegal, Dieng played high school basketball at West Virginia's Huntington Prep before his two seasons at Louisville. He averaged 9.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore.
