Hugo, Minn. man, 75, missing after Sunday night walk
HUGO, Minn. (KMSP) -
A 75-year-old Hugo, Minn. man is missing after he left for a walk on Sunday evening and failed to return.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says Radivoje Ray Novakovic was last seen at his home around 7 p.m. near the 13000 block of Europa Trail wearing a maroon shirt, khaki pants and a brown hat.
Novakovic stands approximately 5-feett-6 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has gray and white hair. Novakovic is diabetic, mildly bipolar and has been known to get disoriented.
Novakovic is known to be very fit and often walks three to four miles a day to stay healthy. Police say he could have experienced blood sugar issues related to his diabetes and may have sought shelter before finding himself unable to embark on his walk again.
Officials are asking members of the public in the area to search their property, including outbuildings, stored vehicles, watercraft and pools.
No organized searches have been announced at this time.
There is no indication of foul play, and Washington County Sheriff's deputies -- along with members of the Centennial Lakes, Forest Lake, Hugo and Lino Lakes fire departments; the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources; Minnesota State Patrol; and Washington County Sheriff's continue to search the area. Mounted patrol, a helicopter and watercraft were used in the search.
