Monday forecast: Afternoon storms possible - KMSP-TV

SEVERE WEATHER: Risk looms Monday afternoon

Posted: Updated:
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Heat, moisture, and a cold front sweeping across the area have the potential to combine for some scattered thunderstorms today.

MONDAY OUTLOOK

The metro currently sits on the western edge of the slight risk category. Storms have potential to develop along the cold front, so if they hold off long enough and the cold front goes by, then storms will develop east of the metro in western Wisconsin. The main threat with these storms includes large hail followed by damaging winds.

TIMELINE

Storms could develop between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. with the chance for storms expiring at 6 p.m.
