The American Academy of Pediatrics, the nation's leading advocacy organization for children's health, seeks an Editorial Specialist within our Division of Publishing and Production Services. This individual will provide editing and proofreading services for AAP publishing efforts while ensuring the quality and timeliness of AAP publications.
This role will copyedit clinical and consumer publications including manuals, eBooks, toolkits, electronic products, and various promotional pieces; manage permissions review process for requests to reproduce AAP information; proofread page proofs at all stages of production; and update Copyright Clearance Center database of AAP products.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. A minimum of three years' experience in copyediting, proofreading, and print production is required, plus familiarity with AMA Manual of Style and/or The Chicago Manual of Style is essential. Must be organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously.
