Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was honored for his impressive season with the Vikings at the 2013 ESPYS, grabbing the award for Comeback Athlete of the Year.
Peterson won Comeback Athlete of the Year on Wednesday night after rushing for 2,097 rushing yards last season, nine yards short of breaking the NFL record for yards in a season. And all of that happened after what could have been a career-ending ACL tear in Dec. 2011.
"To be in a category with All-Day AP, the Triple-Crown winner, and the human fish, it's an honor," LeBron James said. James won his second ESPY for Best Male Athlete after winning his fourth NBA MVP and second straight NBA Finals MVP. He also nabbed ESPYS for Best Championship Performance and Best NBA Player.
