A Heat Advisory will be in effect starting Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. and lasts through Thursday evening. Brace yourself for hot, sticky days with a heat index around 100 and muggy nights with temperatures in the upper 70s.

With temperatures soaring well into the 90s on Tuesday, FOX 9's Iris Perez decided it would be a good idea to make sure outdoor workers outside in the metro had plenty of water to beat the heat.

With temperatures hovering around the 80-degree mark even after dark, there's not a lot of relief to be found -- but it's even more miserable during the afternoon and evening hours for those who have to work outside.

At Lake Calhoun, the workers near the water admitted they've got it pretty easy; however, they did say the heat has been keeping some of their customers cooped up inside.

Near the lake, Robert Olson said he stays cool by cruising in his drop-top Jaguar, but he knows that people who have to work outside need to keep drinking water and go slow.

The hard-hatted workers at the construction site of the Elipse Two building in St. Louis Park certainly know that's true. In fact, their manager decided to cut their shift down to an 8-hour day from the usual 10.

A few blocks away, one landscaper's temper rose with the temperatures. He flipped the FOX 9 crew the bird after seeing the cameras, but one bad apple wouldn't spoil the effort.

The arborists who put in a 12-hour day of hard labor in Eden Prairie said they appreciated a cool drink -- especially since they're looking at another 90-degree day on Wednesday.
