The Talker: 20 must-do things in Chicago this summer

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

If you were to make a list of "must-do" things in and around Chicago this summer -- places everyone should spend a little visiting -- what would be on the list?

Here's the BusinessInsider.com's top 20 list:

  1. The giant music festival Lollapalooza
  2. A ball game at Wrigley Field or U.S. Cellular field
  3. Navy Pier
  4. North Avenue Beach
  5. Osaka Garden, a hidden gem. It's an island in the lagoon behind the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, dating back to the world's Columbian Exposition in 1893. Chicago and Japan dedicated the site as a place to enjoy Japanese culture. Just recently, more than 120 cherry trees were planted there.
  6. A tour of Chicago hot dog joints. The list recommends starting at Hot Doug's at California and Roscoe on the North Side.
  7. The Cascade Drive-in movie theater in West Chicago. It costs $9 per adult, $5 per kid, and on Tuesdays, the whole carload gets in for $14. Now playing: "Despicable Me 2" and "Pacific Rim."
  8. Lincoln Park Zoo.
  9. Buckingham Fountain at night.
  10. Wicker Park Fest -- a street festival.
  11. A "shoreline" sightseeing tour.
  12. Big Star, the bar and restaurant well-known for its tacos on the Near North Side.
  13. The rooftop bar at J. Parker in Lincoln Park.
  14. The Air and Water Show.
  15. Another quiet spot tucked away in Chicago green-space: the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, which was originally designed in 1936. A restoration in 2002 earned it the status of "national historic landmark." The Lily Pool is just south of Fullerton inside Lincoln Park.
  16. The boating tradition, "Venetian night."
  17. Brunch on Rush Street. Yes, Business Insider refers to it as the "Viagra triangle."
  18. Stake out a spot in Millennium Park on Wednesdays and Saturdays to watch the fireworks from nearby Navy Pier.
  19. Run, walk, bike or rollerblade along the Lake Shore Drive bike path.
  20. The Shedd Aquarium.
