WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. (KMSP) -

A White Bear Lake woman christened "the neighbor from hell" pleaded guilty on Monday to violating a restraining order by videotaping her neighbors.

According to charges, Lori E. Christensen, 50, lived directly across the street from Greg and Kimberly Hoffman and their children, and has routinely harassed them for about five years. Previous offenses landed her in jail -- twice -- and have sparked media attention, even raising the eyebrows of ABC host Dr. Phil.

In the latest disciplinary action Ramsey County bestowed upon her, Christensen attempted to evade her eavesdropping habit, telling the judge she "inadvertently" filmed the Hoffman's home with video surveillance of her own property.

On May 19, 2012, police obtained Christensen's video footage of the Hoffmans. She claimed her prior restraining order had not yet gone into effect, though it was effective on May 4, 2012.

She has also been accused of exhibiting herself in front of a Hoffman son's 13-year-old birthday party, taunting Kimberly Hoffman, a recovering alcoholic, by placing signs on her garage.

In 2009, Christensen allegedly shouted to Kimberly Hoffman, "Why don't you have a little more scotch? I wish you had died." Hoffman had recently been released from the hospital after being found unconscious in her home, and has acknowledged that she relies on support of family and friends to aid in her sobriety and recovery. Bizarre signs on Christensen's garage door read, "get a life," "the guilty talk the loudest" and "I saw mommy kissing a breathalyzer."

On June 4, 2010, the complaint alleges Christensen started playing with a remote-control car outside of a birthday party at the Hoffman house. She loudly yelled, "Drunk driver!" "Drunk driver!" and later called the Hoffman's son "a punk" and "the son of an alcoholic." The Hoffmans videotaped part of the incident in which Christensen wanders with a cigarette hanging from her mouth, then prancing toward her home waving her hands in the air.

When interviewed by police, she admitted to "pushing the limit" regarding comments about the 13-year-old, but maintained the Hoffmans drank alcohol "24-7" and were living off welfare. The investigating officer noted strong odor of alcohol on Christensen's breath during the interview.

In addition, complaints allege Christensen had made masturbatory gestures toward Greg Hoffman while he and his 8-year-old daughter were outside their home. Christensen had been retrieving her mail, the box located in the Hoffmans' yard, and scratched herself in suggestive ways, admitting to flashing a thigh from beneath her skirt.

Her plea agreement requires community service, 10 years probation, 10 years of no contact with the Hoffmans and a 10-year "stay-away order" from the neighborhood. She is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 11.
