Nearly 1/5 Parents Think Own Baby Is Ugly

Posted: Updated:

A newborn baby: the perfect little specimen that inherits the best physical features of the mother and the father. But a new study of 1,000 parents finds that many of them thought their newborn baby was ugly!

The study shed light on what many couples would never openly admit. According to the poll, nearly one in five parents were disappointed in the looks of their babies. One father even admitted that, objectively, his daughter looked disgusting when she arrived.

Many couples also report the need to keep their honest opinions secret and put on the brave face in public. According to the study, only an underwhelming eight percent of parents report discussing their new baby's less-than-perfect looks with someone who isn't their partner. Many polled admitted that they would get offended if others told them that their baby wasn't beautiful.

But the study's ultimate conclusion is that parental love triumphs no matter what the baby looks like. PromotionalCodes.org.uk who conducted the survey, emphasizes that a parent thinking his/her child is ugly does not reduce the love felt or shown. In fact, parents fall in love with their offspring at first sight, no matter the objective appearance.

Video games may be pure fantasy, but a violent action-adventure game called "Watch Dogs" has ignited a very real debate in one South Jersey community. Watch Dog allows players to adopt the persona of a James Bond-like computer hacker, chasing an evil mastermind. People say it's chock-full of foul language, sex and violence, features dark and foreboding backdrops. The latest version, which is due out this fall may be set in Camden.
