Ga 13-year-old accused of molesting 4-year-old

Posted: Updated:

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a 13-year-old Georgia boy will face charges as an adult in the alleged molestation of a 4-year-old girl.

A juvenile court judge had the boy arrested during a hearing Friday at the request of a prosecutor in Columbia County.

Georgia law allows children as young as 13 to be charged as adults in such cases.

The Associated Press isn't identifying the teen because of his age.

Authorities say the child and another boy are accused of sexually assault a 4-year-old girl in June. The girl's mother says she had repeatedly told the two boys to stay away from her home.

The 13-year-old boy's mother was facing charges of having sex with two juvenile boys at the time. His father is being investigated in a separate sexual battery.
