PHOTOS: Police seek IDs of 2 men in Lyndale Ave. sex assault

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

The Minneapolis Police Department is asking the public to help identify two men who tried to sell a cell phone belonging to a woman who was sexually assaulted in the Uptown area.

On Thursday, investigators released images of two men who came to the World of Wireless location on Lyndale and Lake avenues on June 24, the same day of the assault.

Video surveillance shows the pair trying to sell a phone that belonged to a woman who reported being sexually assaulted by an armed man who threatened to kill her just hours before.

Officials described the two as persons of interest in the case.

The victim told police she was walking down an alley near the intersection of Lyndale Avenue South and West 22nd Street at about 2:20 a.m. when a man approached and attempted small talk prior to dragging her to a grassy area.
