Severe storms cause flooding at Harrison Twp. mobile home park

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

Severe thunderstorms knocked down trees and power lines in parts of Michigan as heavy rains brought flooding to some areas.

Flooding was reported in Macomb County's Harrison and Clinton townships and elsewhere in the Detroit area on Wednesday morning following storms that moved through the state starting Tuesday. Roughly 10,000 power outages were reported.

In Harrison Township, water levels were nearly knee-high at the Willow Point mobile home park just east of I-94. (See photos)

In Ann Arbor, thunderstorms on Tuesday evening sent a large branch crashing down on a car and a woman out walking her dog. In the Lansing area, some people around Holt lost power on Tuesday evening as the storms felled trees and branches.

In the Upper Peninsula, the National Weather Service is warning people along part of Lake Superior including Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore to beware of hazardous swimming conditions due to high waves.
