NEW YORK (AP) -- Young people on probation are aiding Superstorm Sandy recovery efforts as part of a New York City project.
The initiative's called Summer YouthWRAP. It's an offshoot of a program that started in January.
YouthWrap is designed to help young people build life and career skills while giving back to the community.
Participants get a stipend. The experience also looks good on their resumes or college applications.
