Pets costing owners $3 billion in damaged devices

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

A study sponsored by SquareTrade revealed that pets have destroyed more than eight million devices, costing owners almost a whopping $3 billion.

Surprisingly, the study showed 17 percent of owners genuinely believe their pets spitefully damaged their devices on purpose.

The study also states that people who have their pets on their laps are four times more likely to experience pet-caused damage to their property.

Dogs and cats have been particularly responsible for these behaviors, as one in six dog or cat owners have witnessed their pets puking or using the bathroom on one of their devices.

Dog owners should be especially vigilant since dogs have been identified as being twice as likely to cause damage to their owners' electronic devices.
