CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A South Side man was charged with the May shooting death of a man in the South Side Roseland neighborhood.

Devonta Williams, 19, of the 5300 block of South Bishop Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, was charged with first-degree murder, police said Thursday morning.

Williams is accused of shooting 34-year-old Michael Kizer to death outside his home in the 0-100 block of West 107th Street about 2:15 p.m. on May 29, authorities said.

Witnesses identified Williams as a shooter who walked up to Kizer and opened fire, striking him multiple times, police said.

Kizer was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was declared dead at 3:11 p.m. on May 29, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Kizer is expected Thursday in bond court.
