MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Minneapolis Public Schools canceled summer programs Monday at six buildings with storm-related power outages

The power outages will affect summer school at Folwell, Lucy Laney, Nellie Stone Johnson and South High School, the Broadway High School summer program at Longfellow, and the South Campus Adult Basic Education program located at 2225 East Lake Street.

The cancellations affect approximately 2,000 students who attend summer school and other summer programming in Minneapolis. Damage from recent storms has caused power outages at a total of nine MPS buildings.

Summer school programs at sites with power will operate on their normal schedule and provide the usual services, including summer programing and meal service.

Families registered for summer programming at the listed buildings will receive a phone message this evening with the cancellation information.
