Kayaker missing after capsizing on Minnesota River

NEW ULM, Minn. (KMSP) -

Emergency responders are searching for a man who went overboard while kayaking on the Minnesota River near New Ulm on Saturday night.

The missing man was with two others when their kayaks overturned. Two of the kayakers made it safely to shore and called for help around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nicollet County Sheriff Dave Lange told the Star Tribune. The kayakers are from Watertown, S.D. Their names have not been released.

Rescuers from Nicollet, Blue Earth and Brown counties and Courtland, Minn. fire crews looked for the missing man on Saturday night, and the search will resume Sunday morning.

Lange said the missing man was not wearing a life jacket.
