Friday Night Fights made its way to Minneapolis and the Convention Center and a local kid with championship aspirations stole the show.
Osseo's Caleb "Golden" Truax was his cereberal self in his six round knockout performance against the nationally favored Don "Da Bomb" George. Truax peppered George for the majority of the six rounds before finally finishing him off with a devistating right hand that caught the Chicagoan behind the ear.
Truax set the tone in the first round capitalizing on a straight up and down fighter in George who claimed afterwards that dropping extra weight was a part of the loss. George failed to provide himself any defense and didn't bother to move his head and took collateral damage that in the end was too much to recover from.
Coming into the fight, George was the 17th ranked super middleweight in the World according to BoxRec. Truax, who has rolled to four straight wins after his lone loss to former World Champion Jermain Taylor over a year ago. With the win, Truax has set himself up for a nice payday for his next fight.
Rances Barthelemy used a bone crushing body shot to stop Fahsai Sakkreerin early in the second round. Barthelemy (19-0) used his height to his advantage in the early stoppage and becomes the number one contender for the IBF Super Featherweight Title.
