Los Angeles, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) Los Angeles police today chased a possibly armed motorist to the South Los Angeles area, where the car crashed into a van and the driver refused to surrender.

The crash occurred about 11:35 a.m. in the area of Holmes Avenue and 60th Street, said Los Angeles police Officer Susan Torres of the Media Relations office.

After the crash, the unidentified suspect refused to get out of the car, prompting a standoff that was continuing early this afternoon.

There was no immediate word on whether either driver was injured in the collision.
