VIDEO: Miss Utah's solution to gender income disparity
Miss Utah may not have won the Miss USA crown, but she has people talking Monday morning after her interesting answer to a question about gender income disparity.
The question, from Nene Leakes, of Real Housewives of Atlanta fame:
"A recent report shows that in 40 percent of American families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?"
The answer from Miss Utah:
"I think we can relate this back to education and how were are continuing to try to strive to figure out how to create jobs right now. That is the biggest problem. I think especially the men are seen as the leaders of this, so we need to figure out how to create education better so that we can solve this problem."
Miss Connecticut, Erin Brady, won the title of Miss USA in Las Vegas.
The 25 year old gets a New York apartment for one year and will raise awareness about breast and ovarian cancer, which is the organization's official cause. Brady will also represent the United States at the Miss Universe pageant.
