Man arrested as police investigate Burnsville boy's death

BURNSVILLE, Minn. (KMSP) -

A 24-year-old man accused of violating a protection order is under arrest as Burnsville police continue to investigate the death of a 4-year-old boy.

Officers were called to a home on the 30 block Horizon Heights Road at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving a call about a child experiencing medical problems. By the time police arrived, the boy was dead.

While the boy's cause of death remains under investigation, officers took 24-year-old William Warr into custody on charges of violating a protection order, felony criminal damage to property and fleeing police.

"Situations like this involving the death of child are extremely tragic," said Burnsville Police Chief Eric Gieseke.

Gieseke says that the Department believes this was an isolated domestic situation with no ongoing threat to the community.

On Thursday, Warr was also charged with providing false information to police and driving after revocation.
