Parents aren't supposed to pick favorites, right? But it turns out some do. Perhaps even more surprising is that a lot of them admit to it.

Most wouldn't admit it to us, but some parents who do have a favorite were willing to cop to it, at least anonymously.

More than 30 percent of moms surveyed by British website ParentDish say they have a favorite child. About 28 percent of dads said they favored one of their children over the rest.

Dr. Matt Lundquist, a therapist, said that he has experience where parents will be nervous about saying saying they have a favorite but that it is a pretty ordinary experience. He said it is no big deal unless you're expressing that favoritism overtly.
