Two Suspects Arrested For Robbing Grieving Families

Posted: Updated:
FRANKLIN TWP., N.J. -

A man and a woman have been arrested for robbing homes of grieving families as they attended funerals.

The two heartless suspects were caught during an unrelated traffic stop in Franklin Township, Gloucester County.

It's also the same county where they broke into a home here on Morris Avenue while the family was out burying their loved one.

Police say 41-year-old Andrew McCloskey and 28-year-old Nichelle Thau broke into two homes in Medford Township and one in Franklin Township.

The burglaries happened between the last week of May and June first

All of the victims were attending funerals at the time and police say the suspects knew it.

Police say the suspects stole jewelry, guns, a shotgun and a rifle.

Some of the goods were recovered during a search of the car and suspects' house.

According to one officer, "What they did was rather reprehensible. They reviewed obituaries in local news papers, then cross referenced addresses of descendents, then sit on the house and waited for families to leave to attend funeral and force entry in home and burglarize them."

The suspects are charged with three burglaries so far, but police believe they may be responsible for more. As of early this evening both suspects were still in jail.
