Richfield police have sent two people to the Hennepin County Jail after a 20-year-old man was shot and killed inside a home on Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called to a house in the 6900 block of 16th Avenue at 4:40 p.m. to a shots fired call. Once inside, they found 20-year-old Fernando Leon-Celis had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Richfield Rescue personnel and Hennepin County paramedics performed CPR on the victim; however, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers took five people into custody for questioning regarding the fatal shooting on Saturday, but three were released on Sunday. The remaining two have since been taken to the Hennepin County Jail in connection with the shooting.
Possible charges are pending, and police say the investigation remains ongoing; however, no additional suspects are being sought at this time.
