RIVERSIDE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

An admitted west suburban gang member was charged Friday with running a pot operation out of his Riverside home.

Victor Sanchez, 18, was charged with felony manufacture and delivery of cannabis, felony possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Riverside police said Saturday.

After residents reported suspicious vehicles and people loitering in the area near the home over the past several months, officers and the West Suburban Enhanced Drug and Gang Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant Friday at Sanchez's home in the 7200 block of West Ogden Avenue.

Riverside police Chief Tom Weitzel saw a taxi drive onto the property and a passenger go into a garage, purchase cannabis and get back in the taxi, police said.

"This is a significant arrest as Mr. Sanchez was selling cannabis to juveniles and adults that drove to the Riverside address from Berwyn, Chicago, Lyons, Summit, Justice and several DuPage communities," Weitzel said in a release.
