LOS ANGELES -

Paris Jackson, the 15-year-old daughter of late pop icon Michael Jackson, was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday morning. Sources tell TMZ that she left a suicide note and cut herself with a meat cleaver.

TMZ says a 911 call came in just before 1:30 a.m. About 2 a.m., Paris was taken from her family's home in the affluent Calabasas community in Los Angeles to a nearby hospital.

Paris had called a suicide hotline, and the concerned operator there called 911, TMZ reports.

According to TMZ, Paris Jackson had taken a "large amount of Motrin pills." Other sources mentioned "multiple cuts on one of her wrists." She received "numerous stitches" for her cuts, according to TMZ.

The Associated Press reports that an attorney for Michael Jackson's mother says that Paris Jackson is physically fine. Perry Sanders Jr. said in a statement to the Associated Press that the teen is getting appropriate medical attention and the family is seeking privacy.

Paris Michael Katherine Jackson is the second child and only daughter of the legendary pop singer.
