An Edina home was destroyed after a huge fire Monday night.
The house went up in flames around 10:30 p.m. on Kenney Place near the Crosstown and Highway 100.
The family was able to make it out of the home safely, but the flames had already spread to the outside by the time fire crews arrived.
"When we arrived, the garage structure was on fire. It was already quite an escalated fire," Edina Fire Chief Marty Scheerer said. "Home sprinklers potentially could be very beneficial in a situation like this."
The home will likely be a complete loss.
Scheerer said the homeowner thought the fire came from the garage, but crews will continue to investigate.
