SUSPECT TURNS HIMSELF IN
Roseville police say 37-year old Kevin Johnson of Oakdale turned himself in on Friday evening after being accused of sexual assault at a Roseville shopping center.
According to police, a chaplain from an east metro sheriff's department recognized the suspect from a news story on his smartphone app and eventually convinced the suspect to turn himself in.
Johnson was booked into the Ramsey County Jail on 4th degree sexual assault changes. Police are investigating possible connections to similar reports of sexual assault in the area.
Roseville police need your help identifying a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in the parking lot of the Crossroads of Roseville shopping center last Saturday, May 18.
According to police, a 51-year-old woman had left the mall and was placing items into the trunk of her car when she felt someone grab her from behind and partially push her into the trunk.
The woman said she felt the suspect grind his groin against her backside. She said the assault stopped when she kicked him.
The Crossroads shopping center is across the street from Rosedale Mall on County Road B2, anchored by Kohl's, Dick's Sporting Goods and Best Buy.
