Robberies increase in Brighton Park, McKinley Park

CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

Police are warning Brighton Park and McKinley Park residents of an increase in armed robberies this month in the South Side neighborhoods.

The men approach their victims with a handgun and demand money, according to a release from Area Central detectives.

The robberies happened about 8:55 p.m. May 11 in the 3500 block of South Francisco Avenue, about 11:05 p.m. May 17 in the 2200 block of West 37th Street and about 4 p.m. May 19 in the 4400 block of South Mozart Street, police said.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males between 16 and 25 years old, police said. They are 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 and 140 to 165 pounds.
