ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

A man was taken to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after falling from a scenic overlook Thursday afternoon in St. Paul.

According to St. Paul police, the man was in the Mississippi River overlook area near Hartford Ave. around 12:37 p.m. when he lost his footing and tumbled down the bluff.

A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter was called in to assist St. Paul firefighters with the rescue. While the man fell from the river bluff, he never actually entered the water.

St. Paul police don't believe the fall was due to soil saturation, like the incident at Lilydale Park on Wednesday.
