NBA all-star Kevin Durant sat court side watching the Minnesota Lynx Tuesday afternoon. His mind was a thousand miles away as he thought about the victims of the devastating tornado that ripped through suburbs of Oklahoma City.
"It's tough to go through, but we're a city that comes together," said Durant. "We'll bounce back from this. The sun will shine soon."
Less than 24 hours after the F-5 left a path of destruction in Moore Oklahoma, Durant donated 1 million dollars to the Red Cross for Tornado relief. The Thunder followed Durant's lead as did the NBA each donating a million dollars to the fund.
Durant was in Minnesota to watch fellow high school classmate Monica Wright before heading back to Oklahoma City tomorrow to help with cleanup efforts.
