Helping Oklahoma victims, Rohini Dey talks culinary opportunities for women: Chat Room

On Tuesday's Chat Room, Sun-Times Splash Editor Susanna Negovan, lifestyle consultant Rochelle Trotter and GDC anchor Anna Davlantes discussed the devastation in Oklahoma after a mile-wide tornado ripped through the suburbs of Oklahoma City.

The ladies also discussed the rescue and recovery efforts, as crews continued to search through the rubble to find survivors. The medical examiner in Moore, Okla. reported Tuesday that 24 people had died, including seven children.

President Obama pledged urgent government help from Washington Tuesday morning, saying they would not face the "long road ahead" alone. The ladies also discussed ways the local public can help the tornado victims.

Chicago restaurant entrepreneur and Vermillion Restaurant owner Rohini Dey joined the Chat Room to explain her new partnership with the James Beard organization to provide scholarships to women in the culinary world. She's a former economist and management consultant, who has a foot in the business, glamour and philanthropy worlds across the U.S. and India.

On Thursday's Chat Room, Susanna Negovan, Patti Vasquez, AnnaDavlantes listened to how Angela Rose overcame sexual assault and discussed domestic violence with Dr. Daniela Schreier.
