Sunday's storms brought heavy rains, but downed trees and power lines were also a big problem in many places.
A huge tree fell across Northern Avenue in DeKalb County, blocking the road and knocking out electricity to much of the neighborhood. The massive tree kept some neighbors from even getting out of their driveways.
A southwest Atlanta man was trapped inside his home after a tree fell on it. It happened in the 3900 block of Bakers Ferry Road. He managed to get out safely before rescue crews arrived, and he was not hurt.
In Kennesaw, one family had an even closer call. A tree on 12 Oaks Court crushed Teresa Gaffney's car, though she says it could have been so much worse.
"Thank God it fell the way it did and not on the house," said Gaffney. "Cars can be replaced."
In Fayetteville, one man told FOX 5 a huge gust of wind blew past his father's house around 2:15 p.m. Sunday, toppling six trees. One of them just missed hitting the house.
FOX 5 viewers sent us photos from many places, including Paulding County. A tree fell on a home located on East Paulding Drive and Citizens Square Road, damaging the house as it crashed to the ground.
